I have 17 blog post drafts, but I don’t feel comfortable posting any of them just now. I’ve been… rather busy. Doing what, you say? Let’s list.
- Doing my day job
- Teaching ENGL 101 – intro to composition – to prison inmates through Ashland University.
- Teaching a 4-week course on writing short stories at the public library
- Preparing to teach a course on writing political science fiction tonight!
- Being a test subject for aerospace science! I spent 3 3-hour sessions breathing random mixes of oxygen and doing cognitive tests while they monitored my mind.
- Revising Galactic Hellcats for its re-release / checking over now-released book for missed typos
- Planning events and publicity for said re-release (Related: you can now buy my book.)
- Playing Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I finished with 100% of sidequests. I do that.
- Starting a new research project on the demographics of characters in science fiction with two cool ladies in Germany.
- Oh, yeah, getting my MFA, which means reading stuff and critiquing and writing. I have a 10-page paper due! ACK.
- Writing a Dating Simulator that was supposed to be a silly quick project and is turning into a PROJECT.
- Voluntarily reading submissions for the literary review
- Suffering depression, hot flashes, and somehow biting one of my rear molars in half?
I feel simultaneously like I am doing nothing and doing too much. Good news, the test subject thing and the literary review are DONE. The four week course ends next Monday. And, as mentioned, I finished Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Seems like I should have more spare time soon? I have a doctor’s appointment Monday that will hopefully address the debilitating, sleep-depriving hot flashes, too. I did get an increase on my depression meds, and that IS working. I am genuinely shocked how depressed I got. It feels much more comfortable inside my brain now.
But I did not get a blog post ready for this week. Sorry. Will try to fix up one of those many rough draft posts by next week.
